Logo and Branding Work

Examples from my Graphic Design Projects Over Time

2016 - Present

I started out in the design world as a Graphic Designer before switching over to Product full time. I still dabble in that world every now and then and the skills garnered then, certainly come in handy even now.

Logo and Branding Work
Branding is always a tricky endeavor. To encapsulate the vision of a business' or a brand's image in a visual introduction always proves to be a interesting challenge.

Exhibit A:

PerDay: A Day to Day Approach Centric Budgeting App

The idea behind this was rather simplistic sine the symbol for "Per" specially in financial terms, is fairly known. I wanted to try a more skeuomorphic aesthetic for the whole idea and chose the color of money i.e. green to finish off the execution.

Branding for a daily budgeting app with a focus on a more day to day approach, for those who find monthly budgeting and discipline a lofty goal.

Exhibit B:

Poolside: Your Digital Swimming Coach

The goal of the app was to resolve unnecessary complications that most of the modern swimming apps come with and allow a worthy experience for not only experienced swimmers, but also provide an easy onboarding and training for those new to the sport.

Exhibit C:

Great Paradigms: Yet Another Digital Agency with a Twist

The tagline was suggested by them and not me haha. The team wanted a fresh modern outlook on their new agency. One of their requirements was to include the x-s and o-s typically seen on the drawing board of sports coaches when mapping out strategies and plays.

The Xs and Os depicted their focus on market strategy and a weighted approach to things

Exhibit D:

Mostly Aligned: A Software Agency with 5 Almost Insync Members

The name although ominous for a new venture, represents the small differences in mindset of the 5 partners. They are of strong belief that this misalignment greatly benefits them when carving out solutions for any of their future clients or projects. May the name not prove to be a destructive self fulfilling prophecy. Hence, the logo contains 5 slightly off axis colorful circles.

The idea also arose from the fact that when shortened, the company name says "MAligned".

NIMUN 18: Pakistan's Biggest MUN (Arguably)

I took on the role of an art director during this project back when I was in college. NIMUN was a very prestigious model united nation event in Pakistan, held by NUST every year. The work spanned from logo, branding, merchandising to a lot of print media covering the event during the 4 days of the event. This was my first big undertaking in a leadership role as I had a team with me to work on all this, big learning moment.

EMPG: Exploration for a Global Conglomerate

During my time at EMPG (now Dubizzle). I was involved in the rebranding effort for their global brand as well as their in-house tech wing called EMPGLabs (now DubizzleLabs). But as these parenthesis suggest, the branding effort did not come to fruition in the face of internal corporate restructuring and merging into a more well known entity called Dubizzle.

Exhibit G:

Toolboxnerd: For All the Hardware Enthusiasts

I always include this particular logo in my portfolio because I found the website for their website to be super fun. The logo variations in one way of the other represented that too.

Chapter H:

Tipniy: Colorful but Simple

Frankly speaking, I do not remember why or for whom I created this logo, but I really like the colors that ended up getting used here. Maybe it was for a friend? For an agency? We will probably never know.
